Welcome back Y’all! It finally feels like Fall around here, and I’m able to wear some of these Fall outfits I’ve been showing you on my IGTV. This season, I am making the attempt to be more thoughtful about my purchases. I’m also making more of an effort to wear the items in my closet versus purchasing a bunch of clothes and not wearing any of them. Doing this has definitely boosted my creativity! It has also made me more excited about getting dressed in the morning! I’ve created so many amazing outfits that fit my personal style perfectly! And I think those around me are feeling it too, because I’ve been getting so many compliments on my Fall wardrobe! It’s not that hard to create the perfect outfit. Just check out my tips below, and I guarantee that the next outfit you create will be one that you love!
Tip 1: Create a mood board/collage to clarify what you want to communicate through your looks. Project the image that you want. Personal style is about defining YOUR look. Sometimes we need a little help from others to do that (crazy, I know). But, look for examples of looks, styles, outfits, and pieces that you love on others around you. Or go to everyone’s favorite place for style lookbooks, Pinterest. Create collages and boards featuring the looks that you love.
Tips 2: Get style inspiration from others, but make it your own. Use those boards and collages that you create to come up with your own looks. Don’t try to copy their looks piece by piece; Use their outfits as inspo, and put your own spin on it.
Tip 3: Choose pieces that you know look good on you. Only wear what you like. I will say this over and over again, “If You Don’t Like It, Don’t Wear It!”
Tip 4: Choose looks based on common pieces that are already in your closet. Work with what you have before you go on a shopping spree.
