I’ve been to various Goodwill Thrift Stores in the Atlanta area since I started thrifting. Sometimes I come out empty handed and uninspired. Other times, I come out with a huge bag full of pieces and a plethora of outfit ideas. Well my last trip was more like the latter. I found a few pre-loved items with a lot of potential. And I couldn’t wait to create this look you see before you!

Why Do I Love Thrifting?

So, a few days ago my girl Kisha (a veteran thrifter) asked me what it is that I love about thrifting. I told her that I love the idea of wearing pieces that I won’t see anyone else wearing. I get to create looks that are unique to my own personal style. Also, thrifting satisfies my need to shop without breaking the bank. And to be honest, a lot of the pieces that I’ve found at the thrift store look very similar to what’s trending right now – think 80’s and 90’s vintage style.

With that said, I’m sharing my most recent thrifted finds with today’s look. From this gorgeous black and gold top that I will be rocking for the next few seasons to these flattering dress pants that I snagged from the mens section, keep scrolling to see how I styled these pieces then shop similar pieces below.

First off is this black and gold top. It was way oversized when I first found it. I knew that I loved the shape and print, though, so I decided to keep it. All I really needed was a cute black and gold belt to cinch my waist. So, I headed to the belt section in that same Goodwill. And guess what, I found the perfect black and gold belt!
I actually had a list when I went into Goodwill that day. I wanted to find a pair of black dress pants. The men’s section was my first stop for those. The pair that I’m wearing are originally from H&M. They fit very slim, and I love them.

When it was time to try everything on, I went ahead and pieced this look together. I was sooooo pleased with the way it turned out. This strong-shouldered top gives off an ’80s feel which I’m very into.

I added my high heeled sandals and my velvet clutch (both, I’ve had for years), and there you have it. A thrifted look that is to die for! Let me know what you think of it in the comments below!
