It’s February (my month of self-love)! This month is dedicated to LOVE. I’m choosing to show myself a lot more love this month by giving up a few bad habits and adding some new ones. One of the things I’m giving up is shopping. Yep, I’m doing a #nobuychallenge this month. This means that I will not shop for any clothes, shoes, or accessories during the entire month of February.

I’ve also decided that I won’t be eating out this month either. No eating out means that I will basically have to cook all of my meals, and the worst part – NO STARBUCKS. I can’t say that I’m excited about this part, but it’s necessary. I have been extremely wasteful these last few months, and it’s time that I get some self-control. I’m ready.

For my soul and spirit, I will be meditating daily, reading my bible, and I have started a gratitude journal where I will write down 5 things that I’m grateful for daily. I’ve been doing my gratitude journal for about a week now, and to be honest, it’s one of the things I’ve been looking forward to everyday. It helps me to be more mindful of all of my blessings.

This body of mine has been through a lot these last couple months. So, much so, that I’ve actually lost about 10 lbs without even trying. Now, I’m not going to lie, I like being able to fit my clothes a little better. However, I haven’t been eating healthy at all. Since I’m not eating out this month, I may as well get started on my health journey too. Plus, I’m going to start taking more walks in the park with Elijah (he loves walking the trails).

Sigh…doctor’s appointments, annual exams, dentist appointments, finding a good therapist, doing my taxes, eye appointments, and so on. All of these are on my list of things to do because I have to make sure that I’m taking care of “self”. Self-care is not just about lighting candles, drinking wine, and getting your nails done (though I do plan to do more of that too), it really is about taking care of yourself mentally, spiritually, physically, and financially. I’m making it a requirement that I do all of these things this month, and going forward.

About My Look: This look is a part of the #teampriiincesss monthly style challenge. We are styling these sleek Madie Pants from New York & Company for February! I, for one, am in love with them. They have the perfect waist-defining silhouette. Not only that, but they come in multiple colors and three different lengths; which caters to the petite ladies, as well as the tall ladies such as me. My look is very casual, but you can count on the other ladies in #teampriiincesss to give you some hot date night looks as well.

Stay tuned for the rest of this month of self-love as I keep you posted on my progress with my new habits. I expect to see positive results for sure, and I want to share them with you.
Thank you for stopping by! Speak to you soon!
