After weeks of being on what feels like constant house arrest, I’m sure it has been especially easy to “let ourselves go”. I know I have gone days rocking the same robe (in between baths of course lol), hair looking a mess, and barely even getting out of bed. It’s like one day I decided that since I’m not allowed to leave the house, there is no point in putting in any effort. That’s just not true though. I am a true believer that if you look good, you feel good. And the longer you go looking a mess, the more you will feel out of sorts.
So, today I’m sharing 5 quick and easy ways to stay cute while working from home. These tips that I’m sharing are all about keeping it simple and easy. We have enough going on, so there’s no need to do the absolute most.
Stick To A Simple Morning Routine

What ever your morning routine was before the pandemic, try to stick to it as much as possible; especially the parts dealing with your hygiene and grooming. That means brush your teeth, wash your face, comb your hair, get dressed, drink your coffee, and eat you breakfast. In my opinion, we (humans) thrive on habits and rituals. So, if we stick to our normal happens we not only look cute, we feel good too. Whenever, I go too long without doing any part of my normal routine, I can definitely feel my mood shift in a negative way.
Do Your Hair

With most of us still afraid to go into anybody’s salon, it means that regular hair appointments is a no go right now. But, we still need to look decent for those daily zoom meetings and the delivery men dropping off our daily packages from those unnecessary online orders. So, it’s smart to make an effort. Now, this doesn’t mean that you need to create a whole updo in the morning. Make it a simple, sleek ponytail or throw on a cute headwrap/headband. If you’re natural, try a cute twist out (YouTube it). Put a little oil in your hair, and lay down those edges. Keep it simple, yet neat.
Throw on a Cute Dress

It’s hard to feel motivated when you roll out of bed, and begin working in the same pajamas you slept in. I suggest that you aim for pieces that you feel comfortable in, but would still feel good about wearing out of the house. That’s why I say pull out those Summer dresses from last year, and throw them on NOW. They’re the perfect alternative to leggings and pants; and super low maintenance. The truth of the matter is, we probably won’t have many occasions this Summer to rock our favorite dresses outdoors. So, why not put them on right now, and prance around in them as you get your work done at home.
Keep Those Lips Popping

Pop on your favorite lipstick. I love my bold reds, fuschias, and oranges. But, if you’re not into bold colors, how about your favorite lipgloss. Heck, even some lip balm will do the trick. Just make sure those lips are poppin’!
Do Your Own Mani and Pedi

I still haven’t mastered the “art of the pedi”. But, I know how to scrub these feet, put some grease on them, paint my toenails, and keep it moving. And to be honest, there are so many great pedicure at home kits out there, that we really have no excuse for our toes and feet to be looking jacked up. Yes, you will have to do a little work, your feet will thank you. And as far as my hands are concerned, y’all know I am a press-on nails connoisseur. When I want a quick, easy, and inexpensive manicure, I run straight to my local drug store, beauty supply store, or grocery store, and pick up a pack of press-on’s. They never fail to get the job done. Please keep in mind, though, that they only last about a week.
That’s all folks! I hope you enjoyed this post, and got a few outfit ideas!!!
