Hey Y’all! Today I want to discuss a topic that I’m sure we’ve all struggled with at one point or another: Self-Confidence. I have moments when I’m in these little funks; where I just feel so blah. It’s usually when I’m lacking confidence in myself. I decided that I would list some things that I’ve done in the past that have always made me feel more confident; So that I could be reminded of what I need to do to get myself out of that funk. Because, your girl definitely needed a reminder. Here are 5 thing I do to boost my self-confidence when I’m feeling low.
1. Regular Physical Activity
Workouts always boost my self-confidence. I’m not going to lie though, like most people, I don’t like working out. But, I think the key to making physical activity a part of your regular routine, is to find activities that you enjoy. Unless you’re trying to be a body builder, the whole reason that you’re working out is to be healthier. So, it’s okay to go out and take a light stroll at the park in the evening or go take a dance class that you enjoy. A few workouts in, you will be so proud of yourself and your body. You will be dripping with confidence!
2. Healthier Eating
I am a lover of sweets! Which means I love cakes, candy, ice cream, wine coolers, etc. I just love sugar y’all. I’m also an emotional eater, so I really go crazy with sweets with I’m in one of my moods. However, I barely ever feel better after I’ve eaten a whole bunch of junk food. Now, when I am on my health kicks, I usually eat more fruit, veggies, and protein. I also drink a lot of water. I’m telling you, when you put the GOOD foods in your body, your metabolism increases, you sleep better, you’re less bloated, your skin glows, and you’re just happier.
3. Saving Money and Paying Off Debt
Financial instability can be a huge stress factor for just about everybody. And it’s definitely hard being confident when your money ain’t right. Last year when I was going super hard with Dave Ramsey’s Debt Snowball Method, there was nothing you could tell me! I felt great about myself because I was setting financial goals, working super hard, and knocking those goals out the park. Knowing that you are heading in the right direction financially will make you feel like your possibilities are endless; which is why I have decided to recommit myself to Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps this year.
Because I can be super lazy sometimes, I don’t pray, meditate, or do my affirmations as often as I should. But I will tell you, there’s nothing like speaking positivity over yourself. These three actions combined will almost guarantee that you’ll leave the house every morning with a boost of self-confidence to start your day. Above, I’ve listed my daily affirmations. You can repeat whatever affirmations that you want to apply to your life.
Moments with God is also paramount for me as well. That reassurance that God is in me and on my side is all I need to feel confident most of time.
5. Put On A Cute Outfit
After working out regularly, eating healthier, taking some time to be still, and throwing a little money in my savings account, my mind is usually at ease. And my self-confidence is at an all time high. Now, all that’s needed is a fly outfit! For me, how I look on the outside can be a direct reflection of how I feel on the inside, and vice versa. So, I do believe that when you dress your best, you feel your best. Always have that go-to outfit that makes you feel GOOD.
So, I’m currently getting back into working out and eating healthier. I will also be taking time daily to meditate, pray, and do my daily affirmations. And I definitely have to get back on track with paying off my debt. Doing all of these things makes be feel like I’m my best self!
