I’ve always felt that it doesn’t take a lot to look good. For me, all I need is a few basic pieces and some simple accessories. That’s it. Basic pieces tend to be comfortable, yet look neat, chic, and polished! However, sometimes basics can get a little boring; which is why it’s nice to add a few “trendy basics” to your wardrobe in order to jazz it up a little bit. As you can see below, I’m rocking a couple trendy pieces that still qualify as basics to me.
Shoulder Pad Tops
It all started with this Frankie Shop shoulder pad t-shirt that all of the influencers started rocking around this time last year. And from there, we’ve seen tons of iterations of this top (short sleeve top, the dress, the sweater, the sweater dress, and so on) through every season. There has also been multiple colors as well. Even though this piece is considered very trendy right now, I would still argue that it is also a basic. Mainly, because it can be worn so many different ways and with so many different pieces.
In my humble opinion, leather pants will always be a closet essential.
