I thinks it’s safe to say that this year has been tough for all of us. There’s the COVID-19 pandemic, messy politics, and the fact the black people are still trying to convince the world that OUR LIVES MATTER. And on top of that, we all have our own personal trials and tribulations that we may be facing. It’s been tough.
For the past few months, I’ve been dealing with anxiety (self-diagnosed). Basically, I was (and still am) overwhelmed with everything going on. In addition to the craziness going on in the outside world, I was working from home, my son was getting ready to start virtual school, and on top of that I was still trying to blog, take photos, and be a photographer! It was a lot! Every time the week began, I would get really nervous and anxious! You know…that feeling like everything is coming at you all at once. So, I shutdown. I had to stop. Of course I couldn’t take a break from my 9-5, or being a mom. And I didn’t want to stop shooting my clients.
To be honest, I was tired of getting up early as heck Sunday mornings just to take pictures. And I didn’t have the energy to put outfits together. I knew I needed to take a break. That feeling of enjoyment from blogging that I once had was gone. That meant that blogging had to be put on the backburner for awhile. So, I did just that.
I also moved into a new apartment at the end of July! Moving is no fun at all. However, I love my new apartment. It’s a lot bigger than my last one, and Elijah now has his own room. That’s a whole other struggle though. I really need tips on how to get your kid to sleep in their own room. Let’s just say that a good night’s rest is a luxury around here.
It’s been over a month since I decided to take a break, and not much has changed in the world. COVID-19 is still running ramped, Breonna Taylor did not get the justice she deserved, we lost Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), and we’re still pushing for the equal treatment of all people.
So, I can’t really say that my anxiety has dissipated. However, I am finding better ways to cope with it all, and his name is JESUS! Also, I think that the change in seasons has me excited about style/fashion again. So, I’m looking forward to getting back to blogging consistently. I will do my best to continue providing you with valuable/relatable content! Thank you as always for sticking around and supporting your girl! It’s much appreciated!
Now, let’s get this month started!! I have so much new content coming at y’all. Stay tuned!
Dani
